Karpower Announces Strategic Investment in Texas with Brownsville Shipyard Agreement

BROWNSVILLE - September 23, 2025 - Karpower has reached an agreement to acquire the AmFELS shipyard in Brownsville from Singapore-based Seatrium as part of its strategic expansion in the state of Texas. The acquisition marks an important milestone in the company’s plans to strengthen its energy infrastructure capabilities in the United States.

From Shipyard to a Strategic Energy Infrastructure Hub

Located at the Port of Brownsville in the Gulf of Mexico, the shipyard benefits from a strategic position with deep-water access, rail connectivity, and close proximity to major industrial zones and emerging data center corridors.

Karpower aims to transform the facility into an integrated and versatile energy infrastructure hub for Texas, designed to respond directly to the United States’ rapidly growing energy demand.

Through this new energy base, the company plans to provide modular, scalable, and behind-the-meter power solutions to reliably meet the surging electricity demand driven by data centers and other critical industries. At the same time, the investment will support the region’s broader energy security by contributing stable, high-capacity generation to the Texas electricity grid.
